Over the weekend, I attended the Principled Business Leadership Institutes held by my business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, in Philadelphia, PA. Ironically, I live in Harrisburg, PA, which is only an hour from there, and have never been in the city of Philadelphia. It was a fun road trip with my brothers and it was a great opportunity to network with AKPsi brothers from all over our region. I finally got to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell! I attended a seminar about social media and how it affects our image and other peoples’ perceptions of us. It was helpful, which is why I’m sharing the information with you. Make sure you are conscious about what you are posting on Facebook and Twitter. Potential employers typically view us students as products. As products, we want to sell ourselves as responsible to our potential employers. In this economy, you want to do everything you can to make sure one errant Facebook picture or Twitter post doesn’t wreck your chances for potential jobs.
