Snow in Morgantown

Alexa | February 13th, 2012

It is officially winter. Finally.

This winter Morgantown has “gotten lucky” and avoided snow. The weather has been unusually warm for this time of year. However this past weekend winter finally hit us, and Saturday we had a few inches of snow.

The snow made it a little tricky for me only because I had to get to the Coliseum for the men’s basketball game at noon vs. Louisville. However, the roads were quickly cleared and I was able to make it the game with no problems.

The men took on Big East rival Louisville this weekend. As always, the Coliseum was packed with Mountaineer fans to cheer on the team. I had to arrive at the game at 8:30 for work, however some Mountaineer students were already standing outside in the snow anxiously waiting to get in and get the best seats. The Mountaineers dominated for a large portion of the game but came up short at the end losing 77-74.

This weekend it was also announced that the Mountaineers will officially make the move from the Big East conference to the Big 12 next year. I am very excited to see how this will impact the Mountaineers football schedule for the 2012-2013 season.
